Its nap time so ill give a quick rundown.
We got a break from the rain today and finally hung some diapers out on the line. It has been a while since we used the eco-friendly option, but we are eager to get back. Nothing like a super padded baby bum to bring a smile to your face!
The oil furnace guy came today, bled the lines to get the air out, tidied the furnace and gave the system a once over. Home warranty working for us already. The good news is WE HAVE HEAT! We will be in the market for firewood in the next couple weeks for the wood furnace, as well so keep your eyes pealed for deals.
Little Dude celebrated the end of the week by playing with his first worm in the yard while I raised the entrance to the garden. Our neighbors at the urban homestead had a gorgeous garden frame with an awesome gate. This isn't quite as elaborate, but I may redeem myself by using materials from the farm.
If the weather holds, we hope to fill the bee holes on the exterior this weekend, get the upstairs toilet installed and all the finishing touches to prepare the kitchen for countertops next week. A couple nights ago, I found my mixer in the barn. I whispered sweetly, "we will be reunited soon, my dear."
If you are coming to the house from the south, we have added 'blue eyes' to the mailbox to help it stand out. Somewhere down the line we will put something unique out by the road to indicate the driveway, but hopefully the eyes will help for now.
Everything is coming right along!
We gave the 'blue eyes' on the mail box a test drive in the darklast evening and need to report back that you WILL NOT :) be able to see them at all as you approach. Ha ha ha. They offer no hhelp unless you are already in the driveway, confident that you have reached your destination. We will keep working towards an alternative marker. Cheers-
