Tree Lined Drive and an Orchard

We hit the ground running last weekend.

Friday and Saturday morning we unloaded the beast and all of our worldly treasures.

A huge thank you to Papa Ted and Grandma Rose for coming up, bringing lunch, playing with the Honey Bear and helping with the unload!!!!

A very gracious neighbor joined us outside, as well and kindly brush-hogged the front lawn and beside the barn. He also cut an awesome path for us to enjoy at WAGONS AND WINE!!!!(Nov3rd)

We are overwhelmed by everyone's kindness!!! We can't wait to show a little appreciation and hopefully a relaxing good time at the Wagons and Wine Scavenger Hunt and Wine Tasting, just around the corner.

Through some measure of insanity, we thought it would be a great idea to also get our trees in the ground on Saturday. We lined the drive with some ornamentals:

Then spent a good hour designing the layout for the orchard.  Grandma Sally was in the neighborhood with a friend and (thankfully) stopped by to play with Honey Bear so that we could get the last few trees in the ground before the rain.

Its hard to see, but here is the start of the orchard:

We had a terrific rain after we got everything in the ground followed by another two days of wind. All indications to date show that the trees have taken well! Now we have to keep the deer off of them through the winter.... but that will be an ongoing project :)

Alright. The Bear is out, I need to get back to it. More to follow....
