Hops and Lavender

Ted did some great work tilling the tracks where the hops will go in the spring.

The pole that you see in the foreground is the first of many, which will later become our trellis system. The trellis will be necessary to hold the weight of the hop vines, as well as offering nature's best ventilation system - the wind - to our crops.

We have also been working hard to learn all that we can about lavender, which we will also begin in the spring.

Lavender will compliment the hops and will add an element of diversity to our farm, as well.

From what we have learned thusfar, there is MUCH to learn about lavender and its cousin, lavendin.
