Learning Curve, Crisp & Gorgeous Day!
Honey Bear and I spent the morning working on some Christmas goodies, then decided it was too gorgeous to stay inside any longer.
We made a few laps with the wagon, then headed over to the orchard to create a long overdue log of the fruit trees planted. This winter, we hope to fine tune a tidy care plan for all the fruit trees. The urban homestead taught us that the better our planting and care log is, the easier it will be to adjust as needed.
Tractor shopping has become a daily adventure through the last week. Hopefully soon we will stumble onto our new addition. We are learning more with each farmer we chat to, gaining confidence about the vehicles and what they can accomplish.
Thus far we have learned that we will need to adjust our hop rows a bit to allow for a more realistic turning radius. This was a rookie oversight, just glad we caught it before the entire trellis system was in place!
As soon as Honey Bear nods off, I'm going to head down to order our lavender! One more piece of the puzzle!
Hope you all are enjoying the weather and taking time to catch your breath this holiday season!
Cheers
