Magnificent Day!

Today we fell in-love with our new home all over again!

Now, before I proceed, I will confess that this evening found me soaking in a bone-soothing tub to combat the day's impact on my expanding person.

Ha ha

Today was easily the most beautiful day that Northeast Ohio has seen in four and a half months!

Our little family started the day by meeting with a log home wizard that the husband had stumbled across. He helped us make sense of the multitude of perspectives available on log home renovations. The truth is, though we have been inching away at the house since we got it, there is still much to do to restore it to its full glory and energy efficiency. The up side is, with a network that includes our new contact and others, we are confident that the strides we take in the months ahead will preserve the home, the logs, for years to come.

Next we headed over to 'Geothermal Professionals' to explore their showroom, see their system run, and expand on questions that surfaced after our last visit. This visit also proved informative and encouraging.

After lunch, the Honey Bear checked out for a nap and the husband and I set to some outdoor projects.

We measured and reconfigured out hops field layout. It is our hope that this new arrangement will capitalize on the breeze and sunshine essential for the hops to thrive.

We added a few plum trees to the orchard and two grape vines to the front, as well.

To top off the planting party, we put our Christmas Tree in the ground!

Honey Bear joined us for an awesome hike around the back 40 and up through the orchard. It was so exciting for us to see prospering little buds, fuzzy little starts, on our fruit trees.

Spring seems to be knocking at our door and we couldn't be more thrilled to greet it!

Thanks for sharing in our journey ;)

Oh! And how could I forget, the day ends with a very special delivery... OUR HOP RHIZOMES ARE HERE!!!!! For today, they are safely stowed in pots in the barn, but we hope to soon relocate them soon to the rows where they will root and thrive!

If you are interested in rhizome planting of trellis pole assembly, please shoot us an email or let us know soon, the time is near! Woo-hoo!!!
