Day One of Fencing

We took advantage of the drying hop poles and a generous babysitting visit from Grandma Sally and we started installing the fence that will run from cabin to barn.

The fencing material is a welded wire, set on locust posts from the local saw mill, trimmed in oak slats. Somewhere down the line we may stain the fence to match the house, or contrast the house... Who knows. We are kicking around the idea of running solar lights down the south side to better illuminate the walkway to the barn, as well.


Ted had a great idea yesterday, he asked me to run to the barn to grab the two remaining rhizomes. We pulled them from their pots and parked them along the man-gate posts that face the street. Should make a beautiful entryway!


We are just entering the 8th month of expectation for our new addition. It will truly be a race against the clock to see how far we can get on our project list before the new arrival.
