Irrigation System

After months of pondering about our options for irrigation,  we have landed on a path for the year ahead.

2013 proved to be rather moist, for the most part. Our hop yard did not require watering,  except for the week we were in the hospital... So it didn't really get watered at all. Ha ha ha. No,  that is not entirely true.

Honestly,  the husband spent many late hours with the hose out in the field.

We toyed with the idea of building a pond,  up near the road, so that we could pump water up to the hop yard. This idea still appeals to us,  but ultimately seems like something for down the line. For the time being,  a drip irrigation system,  piped off our well will likely suit just fine.

With the help of some implements borrowed from Aunt Eve, the Husband was able to run a trench line from the house to the hops. Inside, he layer hose that lead to a three part junction box for the hop yard.
